Matt Westbrook is a founder, investor, and former senior CIA Officer with expertise in rare earth, intelligence, and deep tech. He advises Family Offices and is a frequent speaker at private events globally. His current roles include founder of a rare earth company, board member of a high-fidelity gaming company, board of a US minerals exploration firm, and Advisory Board member of a US investment bank ($1B raised).

Previously, Matt served as a Board Advisory member to the US Secretary of Commerce for Tech & Policy, was C-Suite for USA Rare Earth (now public $1.5B) and was the first Head of the Intelligence Community for a next generation defense firm ($30B valuation).

Matt has nearly two decades of CIA service largely in war-zone environments across the Middle East. He held numerous operational leadership positions in Counterterrorism and Covert Action, with responsibility for US and host-nation entities. At CIA Headquarters, he was hand selected to serve in the CIA Director’s Office where he assisted in building CIA’s first Executive Strategy Office.

Matt is a writer and story creative in the film industry, with several projects currently in discussion for production. He is known for his work on The Gray Man, Extraction 2, Matchbox, and Den of Thieves 3. He is also the creator, writer, and producer of an original feature screenplay and a television series, both in active development.
